The Political Joe – Where Have We Been?

Wow, it’s been a while! The last post on The Political Joe was back in November of last year (2020). In the time since, I’ve made several attempts at putting out new pieces (having several partially finished). What seemingly would inevitably happen is: I would begin writing about some sort of current event, and before I could finish, it would get overshadowed by something else or the topic would frustrate/infuriate me so much, that I just couldn’t find the strength to carry on. Most often, I found myself utilizing this time by playing video games – specifically Apex Legends. This has turned out to be a great outlet for my frustrations.

Upon starting The Political Joe, one thing that I had not anticipated was how being so in tune with current events, politics, and economics would affect me mentally. I have always been one to consume political/economic media, whether it be TV news, podcasts, magazines, etc. But once I started engaging with it in such a way that made me think more critically about it and put it into practice, it really drained my mentality.

So here I am, again. After a much-needed vacation with the family, I now have the urge to get back into it. This time will be slightly different, though. Posts regarding current happenings will generally be shorter and appear less often. More in-depth content will be focused on topics that I believe need more widespread discussion.

Since the inception of The Political Joe, the goal has always been to encourage meaningful discussions between everyday people. So please feel free to engage in conversation about anything. You can find me on Twitter @Solidarity_Joe or by email at: Joey@thepoliticaljoe.blog

Now, it’s time to get to work!
